Action Alert
This Thursday, the
Assembly Commerce and Economic Development
Committee
is voting on a voucher bill that would
divert more than $1 billion tax dollars to
fund private and religious education.
Without strong public opposition, this bill
is likely to become law by the end of
February.

 President: Rob Barbier To All Members of the GFT: Many members have been inquiring about the progress of our current negotiations and while the exact details of what is being discussed at the table cannot be disclosed I can let you know the following information: The GFT Negotiating Team has been meeting since the end of January in order to go through the language of the contract in order to address any changes that need to be made, make the language reflect the current state terminology, and finally to make the language clear and concise in order to avoid any confusion about the contract’s meaning. It is a tedious process that requires the contract be intensively studied and any language changes must be researched by the team and our attorney in order to assure future language is enforceable according to the statutes of New Jersey. These changes are then presented to the Board for their approval or counter. The Board also provides the team with proposed changes for the Team’s approval, the Team’s counter offer or the Team’s refusal. In Solidarity, Robert Barbier
