 Co-Presidents: Rob Barbier David Gierek Dear Members of the GFT, As we are sure that you are aware, our GFT President, Anna Sciacca, was promoted to the position of Middle School Principal over the summer. As a result, the GFT Executive Council held a special meeting on September 10, 2009 in order to take the appropriate steps necessary in providing as smooth a transition as possible to new union leadership.
According to the GFT Constitution Article V – Section 6: “Vacancies in any office shall be filled by the Executive Council”, the GFT Executive Council voted to create a dual presidency for the remainder of the unexpired term of President. The members of the Executive Council chosen to serve this term are Robert Barbier, former High School Vice President, and David Gierek, former GFT Treasurer.
A full listing of the members of the GFT Executive Council will follow so you can be sure to know whom to contact in the event of a problem. If there is a problem always feel free to contact either Rob or Dave via e-mail if you are not sure who the rep is in your building.
