To All Members of the GFT: Below please find a copy of the approved side-bar agreement regarding the concession package. The Administration has finally agreed to language that speaks directly to how the funds raised by the concessions will be utilized. You will be asked to vote on this side-bar agreement as soon as all the details of the voting procedures can be finalized. Please check your e-mail tomorrow evening for all voting details. In order to assure as many members as possible receive this information we are asking our members to distribute this information through any means possible. Feel free to text, e-mail or post on FaceBook so that the maximum number of members can be contacted. If you are a retired member you can no longer vote since your employment effectively ended on July 1st but the 60% terminal leave payment (sick days) is scheduled to be approved by the Bd at the July meeting. SIDEBAR AGREEMENT BETWEEN GARFIELD SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE GARFIELD FEDERATION OF TEACHERS LOCAL #3977 DATE PENDING Whereas; this sidebar agreement has been negotiated for a one year term covering the 2010-2011 school year and covers all members of the GFT Local #3977. In response to the recent budget cuts and pending fiscal crisis the parties have amended the terms and conditions of their existing collective bargaining agreement; and the GFT Local #3977 agrees to the following changes for the 2010-2011 School Year in reliance upon management's representation(s) that any cost savings will be directly deposited into General Fund salary account and will only be used for the express purpose of restoring jobs; and Whereas; the GFT Local #3977 agrees to the following changes for the 2010-2011 School Year only: 1) The members of the GFT Local #3977 agree to take three (3) furlough days throughout the 2010-2011 school year. The reduction in pay for the furlough days will not affect pensionable salary.

agrees to relinquish all claim to Tuition Re-Imbursement for the 3) The parties acknowledge that this tentative Side Agreement shall only become effective when ratified by the membership of the Garfield Federation and the Garfield Board of Education. Nothing herein shall be deemed to create any precedent, established practice or otherwise change the terms and conditions of the parties' existing collective bargaining agreement unless specifically set forth herein. Upon the expiration of this Side Bar Agreement, all prior terms and conditions of employment set forth in the parties' collective bargaining Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
